Default Question about Digital Recording

"Julien BH" wrote in message

I was looking for a stereo recording solution (at least 2
ins / 2 outs, would like to have a FX loop too) to record
tracks to my computer. What I don't want is an internal
sound card, usb would be better so it can be portable.

The universe of possible alternatives starts with the Behringer UCA 202,
which is about $30 in lotsa places. Unbalanced line in, unbalanced line out,
and really pretty good audio quality.

I am looking for something in the Budget range (under 500
please) that would have all those options. If it's more,
I don't care as long as it's justified for the quality.

Something like the Edirol UA-25 i suppose would do the
trick, but I don't think there is an fx loop.

Usually, one records clean. FX is more controllable and easier in the
digital domain.

And I also
suppose that I would have to buy at least an FMR RNP
since i think the pre's on that thing are less than
stellar.

Good point - if you use an interface that already has mic pres, then you are
either stuck using them, or they are excess hardware that you paid for and
power and carry around, but do nothing with.
