Click in Audio

Hi. Using Cuase SX. I'm trying to loop an audio part that I
recenly recorded. I've
recorded the audio (it's a bass guitar loop) and then cut and paste
duplicate copies of the audio on the same track.
I hear a click as the audio goes from one copied part to the next.
There is no click in the original recording. Is this something with
my
computer or audio gear? Any suggestions to get rid of this?
This often (but not always) happens because of one of two things (or
both):
1 The point in the source Wave file at which you have cut the
audio you are duplicating is not at a 'zero crossing' point and the
differences in audio levels cause a jump in level when it gets to
the next instance. Use Snap to Zero Crossing
2 The audio wave file still has DC offset which needs to be
eliminated - you can get rid of DC Offset in Wavelab or most other
decent audio editors
There can also be other causes related to audio buffers. You will
probably find that the clicks aren't there when you do an audio
mixdown if this is the case
Doesnīt SX1 also have the function to get rid of DC offset? SX3 definitely
does...
Besides that, you might look for "Auto-Fade settings" - in SX3, you can set
auto-fades and lengths for fade-ins/-outs and of course auto-cross-fades. I
donīt remember, if SX1 had something like that, but if it does, it should be
useful to switch "Auto-Crossfades" on...
