Sounds good - do you have a receiver with a phono input? If so, you
shouldn't need any additional hardware (other than appropriate cabling).
You should be able to play your records on the turntable and run a cable
from your tape out into the sound card on your Dell.

You may want to get some software that helps with the capture/cleanup of
the records. There are a number of options out there, some of them free.

One shareware product that is pretty easy to use is called Spin It
Again:

It's not the most spophisticated software available for this purpose,
but it's very easy and the simplicity appeals to me.
