Default Turntables and computers

My daughter has a Mac Notebook. It cost her about 3 times what a similar
Windows laptop would have cost her. She paid $100s more for a MacIntosh
extended warranty. When she had a problem with it, she had to send the whole
notebook out of town to be checked out. The repair facility said - hey
there's a tiny dent in corner of the case, the machine is therefore abused
and we won't honor the warranty.

Very sorry to hear that - our experience over the years has been quite a
bit more positive with Apple products. Certainly they've been easily as
reliable as any of the other PC products I've owned, and usually have
been better built.

Though in all honesty I haven't had any warranty work done in a very
long time. Oh, wait, that's not entirely true. There was some issue with
my wife's Macbook that was a warranty item, but I think it was more of a
recall to replace something.

It was handled locally, quickly and quite professionally.

I don't think she's buying another Mac real soon!

I don't blame her at all if that was her experience.
