Does anybody have any idea how I can connect a turntable to my
computer and get some music onto the computer from vinyl records?

**If your turntable doesn't have a phono preamp built in (some modern ones
do, some don't), then connect the TT to an amplifier, which has a phono
preamp (some do, some don't). Then connect the tape out to your computer
sound card and you're away.

To add to that - if you are using a notebook for capture, you probably
will need to get another sound card (there are several affordable USB
devices that work well). Very few notebook sound cards have a line-in:
most only have a microphone jack which is mono only.

Generally this is not a problem with desktop computer sound cards.
