Making cheap extensions for RCA cables
I have a low-end Logitech 5.1 speaker system whose rear speaker cords are
too short for the weak home theater system I've been setting up with an
HTPC. They use RCA jacks directly into the speaker.
I'd like to buy/make some extensions for cheap. Would it be possible to
just use fat electrical power wire to feed the two conductors for an RCA
jack, or does coaxial shielding make any bit of audible difference on a
speaker-level output? Please keep in mind that audio quality is obviously
not the goal as long as I get something resembling the input coming out of
those speakers. Any advice?
