A friend of mine picked up a bunch of old LPs, including some boxed
sets. Many classical, some kids' albums. He's not into vinyl, so I
suggested he put them on ebay. Anybody know a site to find out market
value of classical LPs?

This sounds like what you're looking for.

http://www.popsike.com/

This simple site gives a bit of insight into the difficulties in determining
collectibility of an album.

http://www.cherryrecords.co.uk/selling1.html#labels

Making a list of the collection and contacting dealers for offers is one
way but they'll want to cherry pick all the good stuff, lowball and offer
and leave him with junk not worth the cost of shipping.

Here's one to start.

or these guys might be worth an e-mail.
