Looks like the Avalon requires magic cables:

Avalon doesn't requite magic cables, Spectral does.
As Spectral and Avalon are often used together, most people think
they'll need MIT with terminators.
They don't. Avalons work fine with good thick normal cables, as well
as with normal power amplifiers.
Some current reserve would be nice, though.
The link said something about assuming the presence of "properly tuned
transmission lines (Loudspeaker cables)". If normal cables fit the
definition, all the better.
The 4 ohm rating probably isn't a big deal.
