Maggie Madness!

If I wanted a dipole, I'd prefer electrostats personally. But I'm not
huge on dipoles. But you need to buy what you like nad not listen to
other opinions.
Consider the maintenance.
Maggies offer nearly all the advantages of electrostatics, but without
the fuss about moisture and decreasing efficiency.
A Quad 63 refurbish is about 1500 euro here.
If you're unlucky, an overhaul will be necessary each 10 years or so.
Quad 988 is still one of my favourites, but I'm not prepared to fork
over a huge amount of money each 10 years.
Mangepans (and Apogees etc) are almost maintenance-free (at least the
newer foil-types.)
The old ones can suffer from wire coming loose, glueing it back is
easy.
Keeping them out of direct sunlight helps a lot.
Some Apogees have a factory problem, that will take exactly one
repair.
After that, you can play till eternity or until the magnets wear out.
