GPO does not work with 5.5 due to logic automaticaly resetting the mod value
(mapped to vol) to zero when the daw is stopped? or has gary g fixed this. I
know there is a tedious work around.
Putting 2GB as 1G x 2 dual channel from 2 x 512 has fixed some of my
glitching.
I have no experience with 64bit or dual core but I would guess you will need
updated drivers for both soundcards.
Problems I have had are often traced back to one vst trashing the stability
normaly NI stuff but also wizoo and others.
I guess they are fine on newer daw's.
I use 5.5 on a 3.4Athlon xp with 2G and have "upgraded" my power a year ago
by running Gigastudio on a similar machine with 3G of memory linking the two
via spdif. A great system.

reliable UK audio pc manufacter (millenium music) so i presume all the
hardware is fine.
I have tried using both creamware scope project, and m audio delta 10 10
soundcards in the system and have had the same problems with both. (I
have
used ghost to restore the system so no files could have been left from
old
soundcard drivers)
I have also tried setting logic to run from a single processer using the
windows task manager, processes window but this hasnt made any
difference.
Aside from sacking logic off and using cubase I'm fresh out of ideas -
can
anyone help?
Lots of older apps have problems with dual core cpus, and even
hyperthreading on single core (older versions of giga for example).
Check the bios for a setting to disable the second core and I bet you
will be in business.

You have too much RAM. Logic 5.5 doesn't like more than 1 gig.
It's perfectly happy with two processors, though it won't use the second
unless encouraged- there's a trick to it I can't recall just now. Do some
googling, you might find it.
