problems: logic audio 5.5 for PC with 64 bit hardware
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any answers for problems using logic
platinum 5.5 with new 64 bit hardware?
I'm aware its a fairly old sequencer nowadays and was wondering if there are
any incompatibility problems with new hardware?
I'm using logic with XP pro and am consistently getting stability problems -
Logic appears stable on its own but is very unstable whenever I try to run
external effects / vst instruments with it namely: garritan personal
orchestra, stylus, atmosphere, drumkit from hell, east west symphonic
orhestra.
At seemingly random points logic will come up with the following warning
messages: 'not enough memory for operation', 'out of memory! couldn't insert
or delete data', 'reentrant in uperiodic'. It is generally unstable and
crashes easily if pushed too hard with vst instrument apps.
With an older system these instruments all worked fine but I have recently
upgraded to a system based around an Asus p5b deluxe and an intel core duo
e6600 2.4 gig dual cpu, with 2 gig RAM. The system was purchased from a
reliable UK audio pc manufacter (millenium music) so i presume all the
hardware is fine.
I have tried using both creamware scope project, and m audio delta 10 10
soundcards in the system and have had the same problems with both. (I have
used ghost to restore the system so no files could have been left from old
soundcard drivers)
I have also tried setting logic to run from a single processer using the
windows task manager, processes window but this hasnt made any difference.
Aside from sacking logic off and using cubase I'm fresh out of ideas - can
anyone help?
