Default cheap mini speakers with decent sound

I found a pair of passive speakers to use with your MP3, Walkman,
etc... that actually sound pretty good. I bought a pair of Philips SBP
1100 for less than $10 at Wal Mart last week, over where they sell
computer speakers. They actually have a full sound to them; not tinny
like other mine speakers I've bought. The mids are good & they
actually has a little bass to them. Nothing floor shaking, but you can
hear some bass. The last pair of speakers I was using I couldn't hear
the opening bass notes of Antonio Carlos Jobim's "Wave"; I didn't hear
the song until the flute part came in. Since they are passive, there
are no batteries or AC adapter to mess with. They are semi-sphere
shaped, with a flat area on the bottom so they won't roll around.
Here are the specs:

Freq. response 100-18,000 Hz
Impedence: 8 ohms
Output power: 2w
1/8" Stereo plug, 3 ft cord, 50mm drivers

On the box it boasts:

- Bass beat vents for superb bass performance
- Wide stereo sound stage
- Universal use with all portable entertainment equipment

I did a search on the web for more info on them, but all I got were
European websites, half of them in German.

For the money, it's one of the best buys I've ever found; I even bought
another pair. At less than $10, they are an absolute steal.
