I saw one about a week and a half ago that claimed to be a Shure 585. I went
to Shure's web site and couldnt find mention of a 585, so I passed on
bidding.
The 585s were early Unisphere models that predated the '58.
There were high and low impedance versions and, as far as I
know, used different Amphenol connectors for each either
the coaxial type for high and a 2 pin type for low.
The low Z version did not use a transformer.
