What you were trying to describe is often called the Allison Effect where the
output from a boundary reflection and a source (or two or more sources) causes
a response interference error. This is not a standing wave and it occurs in
cars and rooms at lower mid-range frequencies.
I know, I already said you could call it Allison effect!
But it is STILL a standing wave....
If the wave looks like its standing
IT IS STANDING
and in reality there are no waves that actually stand, they all move.
but the constructive and destructive interferance causes them to
*appear* to be standing still....
