I think that there are certainly more than you suspect. I'm not saying
that they are still being used by everyone that used to use them
though.

While not as many as in "the old days", a lot of automobiles still come with
cassette players installed (or combination CD/cassette players). Also,
automibile cassette players are still generally available from many
manufacturers.
