trumpet players can never ever play that closely to perfect pitch and hold a
note that steadily, that long.


You're close to part of it. Acoustic trumpets or (French Horns in the
"French Horns" file) played by humans cannot play that well in tune.
The "Trumpets" file contains notes not playable by trumpets. There is
no shift in timbre when the range shifts, particularly at the overtone
breaks of the instruments. These are SOME of the clues.
