I've been transferring some old reels to digital.

One of them had the most obnoxious clicky-distortion that sounded a lot
like an overdriven dbx input (these are all dbx I tapes). The noise is in
the tape (audible with dbx playback bypassed).

I discovered that Audition's automatic click/pop eliminator did a wonderful
job of removing this racket. The impact on the sound is minimal, and the
removal of the clicks is remarkable.

Surprising enough to merit an announcement on RAP.
