Hi , Everyone.

I once tought of restoring this fine receiver to its former glory. This
FISHER 500C was given to me a few years ago , it is in very decent
condition for it's age but would benefit from a power supply
refreshment I have all the parts for it as per Sheldon Stokes rebuild
plan but never got around in doing it . It has the original tubes , (
mainly Telefunken and RCA ) and much to my surprise the output tubes do
very good on emission test . (that is if my tester is right) the
gentleman I got it from dit not use it much from what he told me , you
never know the truth on these matter though .

Here's the deal , If I could swap it for an integrated 6BQ5 stereo amp,
I am aiming for a dynaco sca35 (I would use the transformers) and a fm3
tuner , for wich I will possibly trow a little money ... little . I
would pay for shippment in continental america (north) . This receiver
weight 48 pounds , so it is not negligible .

Anyone interested in getting a 500C ?

Tristan

Pictures? Condition of tubes? Cosmetics? I am blessed with
several-of-each that you seek, the SCA35 I have in mind has been
recapped, good tubes, great iron but if you do not need that stuff and
I were to be able to retain the 7199s, that would be additional
inducement to me. I do have pictures as needed. The FM-3... you would
get your choice based on cost considerations. One is 100% "factory",
the other has both the system mods that are popular these days. They
both receive nicely. The EMM-801 tubes are fine. I read your note with
r eference to tube condition, but whatever more you might know (brand,
condition of getter flash and so forth....) BTW, both the FM-3s are
aluminum-front (modern) style.

All tube would be tested on a calibrated Hickok 539B, whatever
specifics you need tested elsewise would be done as well.
