Leslie Speaker Tubes
so i gave it a shot and this god aweful loud sound came out of the amp, even
with the volume on the organ and the amp turned to zero the sound came out,
loud as hell.. it vaugely sounded like a note was stuck on the organ, but i
know that wasn't the case. i turned it off and on and the sound was still
there.
So, i had to shut down and change tubes back. Not sure what the deal is with
that. Totally unexpected based on the feedback.
As for "should," that's way to subjective a word. I guess "may" is a better
one. Sorry, i wasn't aware of the ettiqutte in this particular group. I
guess you tube guys are a bit sensitve ;-) Sorry, maybe i'm too used to
transistors or something.

I have a question about tube swapping....
In my Hammond organ, I recently replaced two Yugoslavian 12ax7e tubes with
a pair of RCA 12ax7 tubes (for the sound).
My question is this:
Can I replace the 12au7 tube in my leslie speaker with one of the 12ax7e
tubes? I understand this will provide added overdrive. Is there any risk
of damage to the Leslie?
thanks
