Nobody really does. Neutrik did have a program for one of their
patchbays, but they made a lot of different models that it didn't work
with. Last time I attacked this problem I measured the spacing between
holes (this patchbay had one spacing between pairs of jacks, and a
different space between pairs of pairs) and set up a Word document with
centered tab stops at those positions.

I made up half-width labels since even in landscape mode, a sheet of
paper wasn't long enough for a full lable. Also, this gave me a chance
to "reset" the spacing so that the cumulative errors would be less. I
think it took me about an hour plus some trial-and-error to compensate
for inaccuracy of the printer. I thought it was too much work, though
if I were getting paid for the job, more work is always better. G

In my own room, I just use a pen and label them by hand.
