I have a question.

Is the mega distortion artists get "like justice for all- metallia,
whereever I may roam- Metallica, PainKiller- Judas Priest" done by tubes or
diodes? If it is tubes, do they make the tubes Clip? or just overdriven (a
bit distorted). If tubes are clipped, why don't they sound like solid state?
