Amps and speakers mate differently

Sometimes - usually sitatuions involving substandard amps.

and certain combinations are clearly audibly better.

Lots of different amps sound no different.

So even though two different amps my be indistinguishable in a DBT for a
given set of speakers, it is certainly NOT true for all
combinations.

Bad logic. The most that can be logically inferred is that it MAY not be
true for all combinations.

I assume it has to due with how well the
amp handles impedance swings of a given speaker.

A lot of amps do outstandingly good jobs of handing fairly nastly speaker
loads.
