Start talking about Maggies, MOSFETs, tubes or class A, and I'm all
ears!

Personally, theory aside, I have never heard a dipole system that
didn't sound strange to me. And single ended triodes, sans feedback,
have the properties of the northbound parts of a southbound mare with a
40 knot wind at a 310 degree heading- immediately after being
serviced.

I'm not a fan of SE triodes either.
Push pull class A still rules.

Prefering dipoles (or horns) or not is just a matter of taste, you
won't hear a sqeak about that from me.

The few occasions I've had to seriously listen to dipoles
that imaged really well... either had lots of space behind the speakers
or some very serious front wall treatments. My own setup had some space
to the front wall but another pair of big box speakers
and big screen TV behind the speakers which probably
contributed to early reflections.
My rear diffusers really cleaned things up IMO and actually increased
soundstage depth and smoothed response.
