Conservatives, ever the staunch defenders of the marketplace, have rallied
to denounce aBxism. Behind their empty rhetoric about the marketplace
being perfect -- and all the usual capitalist claptrap -- the truth is
that conservatives are the real power behind the E.H.E.E. They don't want
the truth to come out about the performance of expensive audio gear being
indistinguishable from econoboxes in level-matched, double-blind tests
because it would threaten the huge profits of the E.H.E.E. members.

Liberals, naturally, take the enlightened view that consumers should be
forcibly educated. To pay for the mandatory "tests", liberal politicians
have proposed a 25% tax on all home audio products priced below the 90th
percentile of the marketplace. These funds will enable all audio retailers
to install "testing" rooms with equipment such as aBxism boxes,
blindfolds, and a tape loop of soothing propaganda that explains the
virtues of "tests" and the evils of consumerism.

It kinda reminds me of 1984, altered by the realization that since no one
reads anymore anyway, book burning is irrelevant.
