You should buy your cable on the roll and terminate it yourself so you
know what is where.
I guess, if you enjoy soldering. Some of us have better things to do
with our time than put ends on cables. If I factor in the cost of my
time to build mic cables, premade cables are far cheaper.
If you were a pro user using dozens of them I'd accept that. For most
home users, terminating yourself is faster and more convenient. What,
can't you solder?
