moving there are retired, and likely to be a little more conservative
than the typical northern liberal. Also, the typical northern liberal
has so much disdain for the south, he would never choose to live there.


Point taken about retirees, but do not forget that Northerners who
move there have probably lived in the North for their entire life.
Personalities at that stage in their life are impossible to change, no
matter how impressionable GWB is. I submit to you Exhibit A and B,
Florida and North Carolina. Both are placed where Northerners flock
to retire, and subsequently both places are becoming increasingly
Democratic (purple you might say). If anything, Southerners probably
have MORE disdain for Northerners due to their influx within their
borders. It almost seems like they think Northerners "infest" their
territory with their corrupting ideas and their attitudes. Too bad
for them.
