I've noticed that people who think this way tend to lead very boring
lives. Lives in which their favorite pastime is to gather at happy
hour with their other wide bellied friends and discuss their 401(k)s.
Yawn.

Sorry, but that's not me.

Maybe. Maybe not. It's just the typical Dean basher. It's pathetic
company to keep with though, even more pathetic than the hardcore
liberals.

Because the Democrats can't win the south.
Becuase honorable Democrats like Zell Miller and Ed Koch are voting for
Bush.
Because Kerry, the likely nominee has a record that won't get him

elected.
Because if Bin Laden is captured or killed before the election, Bush

wins in
a landslide.
Beccause the economyis improving because of the tiny little Bush tax

cut.

Don't need the south. Bunch of bumpkins and religious zealots. I'm
sometimes ashamed to be Christian. Well, not a Christian per se. But
to actually think that those sociological nuts believe in the same God
that I do.

In this country you do need the south to win, because of the electoral
college.

Disdain for the general public noted. The will be the ones voting, you

know.

It's a shame, because the truly notable ones like Kucinich,

Kucinich???? You've got to be kidding.

Dean, and
Edwards will be placed in the shadows of lesser men like Kerry and
Bush.

It's very hard for me to decide which of them is lesser than the other.
Which one lies the least?

They also believe that
nationalism=patriotism. Hitler LOVED his country, but no one ever
calls him a patriot.

He loved power.

He loved Germany. He wanted to take care of his Aryan nation. "He
loved power" is about as glib and pithy as you can get.

Castro too.
That's why his people have no free speech and the newest car is from

1957.

No wonder we as a country are the
laughing stock of the world.

The people laughing, aren't they the same people you just said aren't

too
smart?

WTF? The people laughing are the Europeans and the Canadians.

Who cares? When they get the right to vote here, I'll start worrying.
There are no countries in Europe I'd rather live in.

If you
haven't noticed it, they're the ones who are smarter than us.

That's why they're all so rich, right?

They
are the ones getting 5-7 weeks vacation/year instead of our measly 2
weeks worth.

At what cost?

They are the ones watching our violent tendencies (most
murders and jailbirds per capita than ANY OTHER industrialized
country) and polarization within our citizens.

Comes with a free and open society.

Conservatives think
liberals are crazy.

I don't know about that, I just think they are wrong and haven't learned the
lessons of history.

Liberals think conservatives are crazy.

It seems to me Liberals think Conservatives are EVIL.

They are
the ones watching the middle class falter. They are the ones watching
our country run up a debt we will NEVER be able to repay, and default
as an economy when all the baby boomers retire.

Nonsense, we recovered from the last deficit because of the Amrecian people
not because of the government, but in spite of it.

The dollar? In a few
years, it'll be worth 1/3 of a Euro shortly.

OSAF.

Inflation follows, a
housing market valuation nightmare, insolvency in personal financial
matters.

Where's the inflation?

Read The Economist (right-winged, BTW) and you'll get a
glimpse of our future.

Yes, the economically well-off are
ridiculed too. Stupid people as a group always are, regardless of
wealth.

According to what standard?

General standard, unless you speak to the rich (the minority) of
course.

It's the rich minority that make the middle class majority possible and they
are the ones the left is constantly trying to fleece. According to the IRS
you are rich if you make more than 60K a year. Does that seem accurate to
you?

No. I believe thay any form of socialism is wrong.
I believe that self-interest is a good moral value and that creating

more
dependence on government is not in anyone's self interest.

Idealogical beliefs again. Moral relativism. It is the stigmas of
what most conservatives follow. Of course, it's idealogy and moral
relativism while it's convenient.

I don't think it's moral relativism, that's the province of the left. A
solid work ethic and a desire to get ahead are not relative values they are
simply values. Life is a value and the government should not be in the way
of living it.

I guess the idealogy of civil
liberties can't be followed because we're in a war and we have to be
pragmatic, don't we?

Sometimes yes. The pendulum always swings back when the war is over. You
do recall who set up the internment camps.

But, when a particular facet of an economy (i.e.
health care) should obviously be government subsidized in some matter,

Obvious to who? Where is there a right to the fruits of somebody else's
labor?

political hacks like Robert Novak claim it's Marxism creeping into our
society. Socialism is a dirty word reactionaries like to throw around
for shock value.

No, it's just a dirty word. It causes more problems than it ever solves.

No one else in the world reacts in the same
knee-jerk, Salem witch-burning fashion like the good ol' USA when it
comes to the welfare functions of an economy.

Good, it's one of the reasons we have the strongest country in the world.

Canada doesn't have too many homeless on the streets, despite their
high level of social welfare. Racism is also less rampant there, too.

No up there, at least in Quebec, it's languageism.

Quebec wanted to be no part of Canada for some time.

Let em go.

You were saying there was something bad about public dependency?

Is it better to work for a living or be on the dole?

There you go again. Idealogy.

Reality.

Doesn't matter what you or anyone else
think is better or fair.

Then why have laws?

Life isn't fair as it stands (e.g. the
privileged white men who have a clean sweep of the WH 43 times in a
row). What matters is what is pragmatic. Pure capitalism hasn't
worked for the USA

It's never been tried.

recently (Enron, Worldcom, Tyco, the irony of a
Bermuda address to avoid taxation for Accenture while simulataneously
working on an IRS project, etc). Liberal capitalism implies a
sustained welfare state. Even a right-winged news magazine like The
Economist realizes that.

An opinion they get to have and one I disagree with.

Only reactionary fools who drool over faces
like Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, et al. don't.

I knew the name calling would come sooner or later.

You lose.

Looks like we're pretty darn dependent on Asia to keep us afloat. No
amount of patriotism and work ethic will prepare us for the inevitable
crash.
