Anyway, this is the person who bears the honorary title "Leader of
the Free World". These are the darkest days in America since World
War II.
Yes. 'Cept World War II didn't feature a direct attack on American
soil.
..other than Pearl Harbor...
Hawaii was at the time an American territory, but not part of our
sovereign nation (think Puerto Rico, today).
Hence, no "direct attack on American soil."
This war did.
And yet, a military base is considered "American soil" no matter
*where* it is in the world.
