Well, if you want something that sounds like a 350, buy a 350.
Personally, I'll take a 440B over a 350 any day. But that's just me.
Although the mike preamps on the 440B are even more godawful (and in fact
they are in optional plug-in modules that nobody ever bought, so you
hardly ever see them anyway). So you still need a preamp.
I don't think any of the digital simulation devices even come close to
the real thing. But the real issue is find out which 'real thing' you
want in the first place.
