Interesting question Malcolm.
I am now building my own loudspeakers.
I have also chosen a TL design based on this drawing :

I purchased the drivers from Madisound :
- Silver Flute W14RC25-08 mid-woofer
- Seas (H883) 27TAFC/G tweeter

Ok, I'm still in "manufacturing" process so I still don't now if they
will sound good, correct or like tins.

To come back to your question, I am not interested in "car mechanic" and
it costs me a lot of money. ;-)
