I have an Onyx firewire card. It works fine for what it does, which is
send the mic premaps (pre-everything) and the main mix to the computer.
If I'm bringing a mixer to do live sound and want to record the show as
well, it's excellent. If I wanted to use the mixer in the studio in the
same way as I use my Soundcraft multitrack recording console it's a
no-go.

If you're going to be interfacing with an existing PA console for your
live recordings, it'll work, but I'd rather carry something much
smaller since I don't need (nor can I use, in that situation) the other
capabilities of the mixer.
