VD Vs. DVD under $500
All,
Thanks for all the responses.
I am really biased to get better audio quality first with
DVD as an added bonus, if I can get it without perceptible
reduction on audio quality.
I was leaning towards a NAD 541 and then found that
they have a wide range of DVD players but do not give detail
audio specs...
What do you think?
What is your best CD player for under $500?
Thanks!

Mmm consider the Pioneer 563A... does SACD, DVD-A, views jpegs, plays
progressive scan movies... does just about everything! Google to
find good reviews about this unit everywhere! The sound quality is
on par with my Sony SACD player, I'd say.
I think it retails for $200, though you can easily get discounts (or
buy on eBay new) and lower it to $150.
Circuit sells the Pioneer 563A for $170.99, not bad for a universal
player. Is it possible it doesn't matter whether SACD or DVD-A wins?
There's a very real possibility that neither DVD-A nor SACD will win and
three years from now CDs will either still be selling strongly, or they will
have their sales significantly crimped by downloads.
