I've never even heard of Ortofon tonearms before. Were they any good?

The one I am familiar with, the AS212, was especially heavy.
Excellent to use with Ortofon VMS20 or the heavier MC carts.
The one I once had, was fitted with a Sonus cart, of which I forgot
the typenumber.
The arm wasn't exceptional in quality, if my memory serves me right.
I soon started using the 3009 II arm, which provided better tracking
and damping.
They were made during the '70s and early '80s.

Thanks, Sander! My experience with Ortofon is limited to the X5-MC I owned in
the 80s. I really liked that cartridge on my AR ES-1.
