BTW, it's still cloudy here in Nashville. And I'm leaving to go on an
overnight trip for a distillery tour at Buffalo Trace in Kentucky in
about an hour and a half, so, you'll be rid of me until tomorrow. I'm
sure you will be relieved.

Lighten up, Dave.
You too have posted stuff that I
(and I am sure others) didn't care a rat's ass about.
So what? I passed them by.
But I respect and admire that you have other interests
besides audio, and wish to talk about them with a
couple of others here on this group.

You havin' a bad day or something? This is unlike you.

Ordinarily I might agree with dave, that Scott's frequent updates might not be
of interest to the rest of the group. Then I remember some insensitive
comments made by some, including me, about the DC sniper. In addition, I'm
watching the fires from my front yard, and they've moved within three miles of
where I live, and it's gotten to the point where I'm hosing down my roof
because I'm seeing embers here and there.

In other words, at this moment, I empathize with Scott's concerns.

Boon

Just to clarify, I simply said this:

"Ummmm, do we *really* need all of these updates"?

And then Scott ( and a couple of others) felt like he had to jump on
me.

I sympathize with those few of you who are being affected by this. But
to have an ASSHOLE - (yes, guys, I know that you've actually visited
Scott, so you have a different perspective), a guy who's whole life
here on RAO is to be judge, jury and executioner in as few words as
possible, start posting mountains of information about minute to
minute changes in the wind just rubbed me the wrong way. It seemed
self-pitying and self-serving as well. And frankly, I could have been
far more caustic than I was - I simply noted that posting scores of
updates (which is how it seemed to be going) was worth commenting on.

The fact that I gave updates on 9-11 seems to me to be a whole
different dimension of interest to the group. Sure, the fires in So.
Cal. are fairly bad fires of the type that we seem to suffer each year
in different parts of the country. And I didn't really mind a couple
of postings. But to post stuff that probably had specific relevance to
virtually nobody, just seemed like an effort to garner sympathy.

I notice that *you* and Art didn't feel compelled to act like Jesus on
the cross. and yet, I hope that all works out for you, obviously. for
Scott to beat up on me for my comment means that I really *don't* care
so much about whether or not he'll be cooking giant lobsters on his
roof.
