BTW, I think I remember reading once that for some business or personal
reasons, The Byrds couldn't make it to the recording studio, so most of
the people on that song are studio musicians, including Larry Knechtel
(later of Bread) and Leon Russell. The following confirms this:

The first of the above has some interesting comments; I'd never thought
of the Everly Brothers and the Searchers as influences on the Byrds.

BTW, I saw the Byrds twice back in the early '70's, with the (since
deceased) Clarence White. Marty Stuart now owns White's famous b-string
bender Fender Telecaster.
