I recently purchased the EMU Proteus X which came with the 0404
card...sounds great and everything...but audio cuts off (stops) when
doing various things like typing in another application...I first
noticed it when moving objects around the page in image editing and
layout software (Photoshop and InDesign...I am a graphic designer)...

I listen to music when I work or just in general...now I notice it even
when typing in the AIM (AOL Instant Messnager) box while music is
playing....the sound will distort and the application (iTunes) playing
the music will stop and I have to keep resuming play...

I didn't have this problem with my Audigy 2 card so I don't understand
why with the EMU...
