Do you plan to use the PC as the recorder?
If so, what A/D - D/A do you have (sound card)?
Do you have recording Software?

And yes, racking it up would be excellent.. you
could probably 'build' one yourself if you are 'handy.
A patchbay like the Behringer PX1000 is a great choice - as it offers
alot of 'switching options'.

What goals are you trying to reach with your home/
hobby studio?
