I've been considering buying an AVO tube tester but the price ($800) is a
bit of a deterrent.
OTOH, I've got an old & large Hickok tester that doesn't "do" a number of
tubes. I'd like to measure parameters that the Hickok doesn't.
Steve Bench designed a tube tester for RAT (see
http://www.triodeel.com/tester.htm) that looks intriguing.
I'm considering modifying the Hickok (which has all manner of switches,
filament supplies, etc.) and using it as a base to add Steve's circuitry.
Have other RATs tried something similar? Any thoughts or suggestions?
TIA,
Jon
