The Trabi's problem, believe it or not, is that despite its emissions
(modern two stroke oils will cut the smoke way down) and ugliness and
dismal performance, it runs. And runs and runs. Its engine is an
"updated" DKW and its unattractive coachwork is all a heavy grade of
fiberglass that is indestructible.
