I can tell you, as one of those MW DXers, that the tuner you are
contemplating will not meet the needs of the DXer. A DXer does not want a
tuner: he wants an entire receiver, with certain features. He wants digital
readout to at least 1/10th of one hertz: he wants a switchable filter down
to at least 2 kHz bandwidth: he wants an RF gain control: he wants low
power consumption and battery operation. He definitely does not want a tube
receiver for DXpeditions. These are just a few of the features that your
projected tuner will not be able to supply.
