At any rate, his heritage would not be the cause of social maladjustment.
However, his inability to deal with the prejudice and other ramifications
of being an American Indian in American society would be a cause.
Some American Indians have demonstrated the ability to deal with those
obstacles and others have not.

It is incorrect to ascribe one's heritage as a cause of maladjustment.
