I am quite partial to Stax, especially when driven by aftermarket
purpose designed electronics. The circuit published in Glass Audio
some time back, which I never built but which I have auditioned as
built by two Stax-loving friends, is especially excellent. I do not
listen enough to headphones to justify owning a Stax, and for what
little I do I need high isolation, which Stax aren't.

It's not a given which are the better-sounding headphones, the higher end
Sennheisers, or the Stax.
