Default Speaker placement for an unusual house

Hello everyone!

My primary residence for the next couple of years will be a house/chalet almost identical to the one pictured below:

My goal is to equip the living room with one very high quality system suitable for both multichannel music and movies. The problem is the shape of the room. Well, to be more exact, I don't know if speaker placement will be a problem in a room:

* that is a hexagon cut in two, half way through two parallel walls

* where 1/3 of the front wall is missing entirely (opens up to the dining area)

* where the remaining 2/3 of the front wall extends only half way to the ceiling

* that has a massive fireplace and chimney in the middle of the semi-open floor

* that has a cathedral ceiling

This all is very difficult to describe so here are two links to the house

BTW, the living room will be on the floor that is a truncated hexagon shape with rectangular sleeping quarters attached to it.

Thanks for any insights you can offer.

Cheers,

Margaret
