Default HELP! Smoke from amplifier

Hi, before christmas I took out my amplifier and sub to make way for
christmas gits etc... I decided to put it back in today. I hooked it up
properly etc etc... put the fuse back in and smoke started coming from the
amp!!! I quickly unplugged the fuse, to see what was the problem. I checked
all connections etc, found nothing wrong, except the input cables to the amp
had unplugged when I was pushing the sub box back... Could this be the cause
of my amp not working and smoke coming out? what did I burn out?? I opened
it up and inspected it, there's no visible damage. So I'm guessing one of
the transistors is fried. but before I go checking the whole thing over with
a multimeter, can anyone confirm was the inputs being unplugged the reason
for this DISASTER?? also can it be repaired?? or am I just wasting my time??

any help at all appreciated!!

Thanks
Jon.
