I can't speak for the 600's, but the 700 is really not terribly bass
hyped, relatively speaking. The midrange on it is much more present, and
the bass is much less hyped than, say, the Sony 7506 which everybody
knows and loves. Or maybe I should say that the 7506 is much more
scooped in the middle than the 700. Anyway, I go back and forth between
my 700's and my 7506's when I need to listen in cans, depending on what
I'm listening for.

Don't throw them away - they're quite useful.
