I've been using a Presonus Eureka for about a month now. I A/Bd it with
an Avalon 737SP and what can I say....it's 1/4 the price and almost
just as good results...well at least to my ears. The compressor is a
little weak, but there are a lot of knobs to play with and you can hear
a difference when you mess with all of them.

This is probably the most important thing. When you buy something that
has knobs that make it more than a straight box of gain, if you can't
hear what they do, no point in having them. The question is whether
you can hear them do "a little" and not have to get a drastic (and
often undesirable) effect before turning a knob matters. I've seen
units like that.
