Well, what do you thing listening to the receiver or amp is called?
Around here we call that "monitoring." Hence the name "Monitor
Output."

I did find out buying a
digital receiver would solve many of these issues and better setup for
monitoring with the Fostex VF08 as it has spdif out.

So what are you going to do with the mixer if you just connect the
VF08 output to the receiver? Just is it that you want to do anyway?
Don't use technical terms like "monitor," say what you want to do and
what you want to hear.
