I'm an ex-analog and ex-Paris user. I've been using Cubase SX and

lately, and recently did a comparo of their mix busses. Samplitude won
easily. It was much better sounding.

I'm contemplating upgrading from my Tascam DM24 to an 02R96, and I'm
wondering if anyone has done mix buss comparisons between the 02R96 and

a
DAW mix buss like Samplitude or Nuendo?

There is a rather definitive summing bus comparison out there that

concluded
that all 32-bit floating point digital summing engines produced results

that
were identical. Last time I saw it I was reading the digidesign user
conference forum, but its search engine sucks.

Maybe Lynn's site? -- has a whole section for summing, and I think a CD is
available:

Bill, this is probably way out of line with what you're considering, I'll
throw it out anyway... I've been using an Akai DPS24 digital workstation
that just has the most amazing mix bus. This mixer sounds and feels analog
to me, and a really good one. It's a 56-bit bus, and the headroom is
enormous, just really easy to get a good sound. There are always lots of
comments on this phenomenon over on the DPS forum, I'm sure you would be
welcomed if you wanted to ask folks there for comparisons to the other
systems.
