Does anyone have any experience with the Langevin solid state pultec EQ?

It sounds good. It does some of that bass modulation thing that the Pultec
does, but it doesn't do it the same way the Pultec does. It's a nice sounding
EQ if you're looking for an old-style passive EQ but it's not really an
emulation of the Pultec sound because the inductors are very different in
design.

I was discussing my collection of condensors with David Satz (U-87,

414-EB,451EB, Blueberry). I realize that what is lacking is
definitely EQ. I'm going to spend upwards of $1000 per channel for
EQ, but I just don't know whether the API 550B is the way to go ($850
more for 2 space rack with PS or $2800)
than the Langevin. Then, David mentioned Speck which is less money.
I mostly record classical and folk/folk rock on analog gear.

Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
