Location recording. To move me, the recorder and other equipment away
from the performers and perhaps out of the way from an audience too.
I.e. bring the microphone signals from one end of a church to the other
where preamps and recorder is and if there is an audiens ,in such a way
that they wont trip over cables and other stuff
In this case both the shorter[1] 8 channel (15m ‰ˆ 50' (75‚¬ at Thomans)
(15m will be too short so I'll need more than one)) and longer[2] 16+4
channel (30m ‰ˆ 100' (150‚¬ also at Thoman)) have a stage box in on end
and a "squid" in the other.
I can not imagine needing that many channels[*] and it weighs 17kg. But
there could be other things to consider. Thats why I ask...
sincerly
Lars
[1] to be even more direct... the shorter (of which I'd need more than
one)

[2] the clumsier (that feels like overkill)

[*] famous quotes:
IBM's Watson (?) in the fifties: "The potential world market for
computers is three computers"
Bill Gates: "There will never be a need for more than 640MB of RAM."
